had dinner with a friend yesterday at this place in PJ, a Taiwanese restaurant in SS2..talk about great food. this place has maintained its excellent servings for as long as i can remember..and the last time i went there must have been like 10 years ago. the people working there are still the same, the lady owner/chef still works the kitchen and then comes out to greet and inquire of her customers, all the waiters and waitresses are still the same except they have grown a bit older and a lot more fatter and they remember you (which is nice..they even remember your favorite dishes !!)..and the business there is still very very good. in fact, we had to wait for a while to get a table, and that too, we had to squeeze ourselves in between other tables..
the best part is, the prices have somewhat remained the same..talk about good value for money..i spent RM47 for the 3 dishes you see here (pics), quite huge portions too for 2 persons..
top on my list of the really nice dishes are their
1) butter prawns (they use cili-padi with lots of curry leaves) - i tell you, you've never tasted butter prawns until you tried theirs..
2) sesame fried chicken (pic top - can also substitute with sotong) it's so crispy, you could just eat the crumbs..
3) szechuan fried string beans (pic right) - never thought string beans could taste so nice..
4) pan-fried oyster omelette...very different this one, not our usual "orr-chien" style..

I really appreciate it. We Taiwanese always say: a customer who complains is a real customer. New Formosa Restaurant has loyal followers who always give us encouragement and comments and allow us to last for nearly 30 years.
